Formal letter
Onze de Setembre, 62
17470 - Sant Pere Pescador
C/ Rentador, 6
17486 - Castelló d’empúries
Dear Lluïsa Pintó,
My name is Anna Vilà, and I am a student of 1st Bachillerat B. I’m writing to tell you what I think about the new school calendar.
On the one hand I agree that the next year we have to go back in the school one week ago, and we will have a week of holidays on February. For example my parents can not do holidays in summer and this week my family and I we can travel together.
But I do not agree with we have to go back in the school on 7 of Jenuary, because is the last day of the week and is the day before kings. This year, it was a disaster day, because the school transport did not pass for bring the children in the school, the heating did not work, and missing much students.
I would like you answer this letter with your opinion.
Yours sincerely,
CARNIVAL'10
I will speak about the Carnival. Every year in February we celebrate the Carnival. This year, on 13 of February we went to Sant Pere Pescador, and the last Saturday in Castelló. Three weeks before the Carnival, my friends and I, did a coach. We dressed as "zorro" and I liked this costume. It was a black suit with a belt, a cape, a hat, amask and one sword. In my town was funny and good.
Self evaluation
My oral presentation
1. Music:
I begin with the music...the style of music in this country is not so different from our style. They hear hip-hop and rock. By the twenty-first century, reggae, dub and electronica were all popular with local artists.
Māori music is music composed or performed by Maori , the native people of New Zealand, and includes a wide variety of folk music styles, often integrated with poetry and dance, as well as modern rock and roll, soul, reggae and hip hop.
2. Traditions
Middle-winter swim: People swim in the middle of winter, often dressed in silly costumes.
3. Festivals
Auckland Festival: is a festival of theatre, dance, concerts, cabaret, exhibitions, family events and more, where the national and international artists and companies show their performances.
4. Food and drinks
Pavlova: It is a popular dessert in New Zealand. It consists of a sweet cake that is baked and topped with an assortment of fresh fruit and berries.
Kumara: Also known as sweet potatoes, kumaras may be boiled, roasted or fried. Inside the potatoes can be lamb or pork.
5. Geography
The geography of New Zealand involve two islands (the North and South Islands) and a number of smaller islands, located near the centre of the water hemisphere. New Zealand varies in climate, from cold and wet to dry and to subtropical in some areas. The dramatic and varied landscape of New Zealand has made it a popular location for the production of television programmes and films, including the Lord of the rings..
January and February are the warmest months, July the coldest. New Zealand does not have a large temperature range but the weather can change rapidly and unexpectedly.
11. Things to visit
North of the island
The Coromandel: the Coromandel is about 2 hours drive from Auckland and is a very popular holiday destination for Aucklanders. The peninsula has many beaches, picnic areas and camping places and gets very busy during the holiday season.
Piha Beach: Piha Beach is situated on the West Coast of the North Island, 28 kilometers west of Auckland. The beach is famous for great surfing and regularly holds national and international surfing championships.
The beach is a black volcanic sand beach. The visitors who travelled to New Zealand have to see this beach.
Wellington: It is the capital of New Zealand and it is very important to visit because there you can see a lot of beautiful things and it is a very nice city. It is situated in the south of the north island and there live aproximatley 400.000 people.

____________
*That notice is about the earthquake in Haití on 12 Jenuary of 2010. It was a big catastrophe because died much people, but above all childrens. Haiti is a country that it’s very poor, and they haven’t got device for detect earthquake. Now the houses, the road, the buidings.. are destroyed.
*Don’t affects me because the earthquake happened in the other country, but I feel bad for the people who live there. Now many families from others countries want to addopt childrens of Haití, and I agree with that.
Sant Pere Pescador
Sant Pere Pescador is a small town that is next Castelló d’Empúries, Armentera, Vilamaculum and Torroella.
In the center of the town there are a square where there are two restaurants, one shop, and houses.
There are a town hall and one church.
Since last week, there is a new pavillon. Is big. Inside there are one track of basquet and one track of football, and there are chairs for when you go there for see one match. Also there are one toilet, and three rooms.
There are two football fields, one for the children and the other for the adolescents and adults.
There are one school until “primària”. After, for do the “ESO” and “bachiller” we must go to Castelló d’Empúries.
Also, in the town there are shops, bars, restaurants, and a supermarket since three years ago.
Also we have got a river, “el Fluvià”, a big beach, and some campings like “la ballena alegre”, “el camping el rio”, “l’ amfora”…
I like my town but not much.
I like because when I meet with my friends, they are near of my home, and when I go to buy something for eat I have the shops near my house. And in summer we can go to the beach by foot, or by bike. And if you want to make sport you can catch the bicycle and go to some place, because in Winter, Spring and Autumn there aren’t any transit. And in summer come here much tourists, and there are much people and it’s better.
But I don’t like because there aren’t any things for do. For example when I go to buy clothes I must go to Figueres because in my town there aren’t any shop for clothes for me, there are one shop for adults and one for children. The other inconvenient is that there is only one or two bus for day for go to Castelló d’Empúries or Figueres or other place.
I would like to live in a town bigger than Sant Pere Pescador.
But is beautiful and quiet town.

I’m going to speak about my dog, that she is a Golden Retriever.
Her name is Nala. She is one year and eight months.
We went to search in Begur when she was two months.
She was very small and beautiful. Everynight for three or four days, she cry because she was in a new place, and I went with she until she fall asleep.
Before, she was in my house, because in the last week of August and the two first weeks of Setember, my father had got holidays, and we stayed in home everyday, but after when we began the school the dog is in my grandmother’s house, where my mother works, and everyday we have lunch there, and we see Nala.
She has got a brown eyes, she has got a small noise and a big mouth.
She is playful and quiet, but when she see my brother or me, she jumps and put happy. Everyday, we bring Nala in a field for take a walk because she can run.
Is a fantastic dog, and I love her so much.
My Christmas holidays
During four days I went to Barcelona for be with my family in the Christmas day. Every year, for these holidays I go to there.
The next day, 26 of December, my brother, my cousins, my aunt, my uncle and me, we went to the cinema for saw 2012. I liked very much this film.
Sunday I go back to home.
Thursday I went to Granada, Purullena, with my friends and their’s parents, for passed the New Year’s Eve in there. I’ve never been in Purullena. Is a beautiful town and I liked so much. It was my first time that I didn’t pass the New Year’s Eve in my town.
Purullena was different. We sleept in a caves where there were four beds, an small kitchen, one sofa and one television. One day it was rain, and the others days it was very cold.
The best day was the New Year’s Eve, because we went to a disco and after we ate hot chocolate with biscuits, and we went to sleep at half past six.
Also in these holidays, it was my first time that I travelled with a plane.
In conclusion the last holidays were fantastic.
